Madelon de Keizer is a historian. From 1982 until 2013 she was a senior researcher at the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Amsterdam. She specialised in 20th century history, foremost the period of the Second World War and its aftermath. She published many books and articles, also in Dutch, German and English. Her research focussed lately on the cultural history of the Netherlands 1900-1945 in an international context.
